What's new for the 2019 Hyundai Kona?

A post shared by Hyundai Motor America (@hyundaiusa) on

The Hyundai Kona was a big hit when it arrived at our Leesburg dealership last year, and even though it's only driving into its second year, there are already a few changes that customers, like those we serve from Clermont, should check out! We'll break down the biggies and even the nitty gritty ones. That way when you drive in from The Villages, you'll know what to expect with our 2019 Hyundai Kona inventory!

More Advanced Safety

Last year's Hyundai Kona had optional advanced safety features on select trims, but Hyundai was generous and gave all trims more standard advanced technologies. Even on the base you can get the following:

Lane Keeping Assist: for those moments when you start to drift out of your lane, the system will give you visual and audible cues. If you don't adjust, the car will gently steer you back into the correct position. This will help cut down on potential fender benders when commuting in Orlando.

Forward-Collision Warning: stays aware of vehicles ahead of you that suddenly stop or slow down, that way you can brake to avoid an accident. If you don't press the brake pedal, the automatic emergency braking kicks in! This is especially helpful when driving in The Villages.

Driver Attention Warning: whether you're feeling a bit drowsy or aren't paying attention to the road as well as you could be when driving around beautiful Lady Lake, the Driver Attention Warning system has your back. It monitors you driving patterns and alerts you with sounds and a written message in the instrument panel if something seems off.

Other Small Updates

Those are the major changes for the 2019 Kona, but here are some smaller ones to be aware of:

  • Hyundai has nixed the silver color with the contrasting black roof
  • There's a vibrant, new Sunset Orange color, and you know how much we love orange(s) in Florida!
  • There's more Blue Link subscription services on the SEL trim if you get the SEL Tech Package
  • The Infinity sound system has been upgraded

So, what are you waiting for? Come down to our dealership this week to check out the 2019 Hyundai Kona and its new safety technologies.
