Your Sneak Peek at All the Exciting Updates Hyundai Has in Store for 2019

2019 is still a few months away, but, at Jenkins Hyundai of Leesburg, we can't help but be excited for the New Year already, thanks to a variety of exciting updates and changes on the way for our favorite model lineup.

From a switcheroo in the naming of two popular Hyundai SUV models, to exciting new technologies and features, there's a lot of great things to know about the 2019 Hyundai model lineup. If you're in the Orlando area, and you're considering upgrading your vehicle in the next year, let us help you understand why any one of our Hyundai models would be the perfect option for you.

2019 Hyundai SUV lineup

The biggest headline here is a name change and makeover for the SUV formerly known as the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. First, this five-passenger crossover dropped the word "sport" from its name and is now just known as the Santa Fe. Second, it's received a major update, inside and out. It has a sleek new exterior design, and incredible new safety features, including the Hyundai Safe Exit Assist, which prevents the rear doors from opening if it senses oncoming traffic, keeping your littlest passengers safe when exiting the vehicle.

So, with the Hyundai five-passenger SUV dropping the word sport, what does that mean for the larger Hyundai SUV that used to be known as the Santa Fe? Well, it also gets a new name for 2019, and is now known as the Hyundai Santa Fe XL. With three rows of seating that can hold up to seven people, the Santa Fe XL is a roomy SUV, and it can tow up to 5,000 pounds, so it's great for all of your Orlando area adventures.

Elsewhere in the Hyundai SUV family, 2019 is ushering in some new technologies and shaking up the standard lists of features. Look for the Hyundai Kona, the carmaker's smallest SUV, to return for a second year in 2019, and come with standard rearview camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.

2019 Hyundai Sedans and Hatchbacks

Need a new vehicle in 2019, but not searching for an SUV or crossover? Well, you can count on the geniuses at Hyundai to also offer an exciting lineup of returning models and updated cars in their family of sedans and hatchbacks.

First up is the popular Hyundai Veloster hatchback. For 2019, it's undergone a major overhaul that includes a new base engine, comprised of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 147 horsepower. Elsewhere, it receives a slew of new safety features and connectivity features, including standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and standard lane-keeping assistance. But, longtime fans will be happy to know that what hasn't changed about the 2019 Veloster is its defining characteristic - its signature three-door design, with one door on the driver's side, and a unique full-sized door with half-sized door on the passenger's side.

The Hyundai Accent is another great model undergoing some changes for model year 2019, and it's another car to be on the lookout for. Every Accent model gets a stylish chrome grille for 2019, as well as standard connectivity features and touchscreen interface.
